Review Role of NF-êB in immune and inflammatory responses in the gut

چکیده

NF-êB is a pleiotropic transcription factor with key functions in the intestinal immune system. NF-êB family members control transcriptional activity of various promoters of proinflammatory cytokines, cell surface receptors, transcription factors, and adhesion molecules that are involved in intestinal inflammation. The perpetuated activation of NF-êB in patients with active inflammatory bowel disease suggests that regulation of NF-êB activity is a very attractive target for therapeutic intervention. Such strategies include antioxidants, proteasome inhibitors, inhibition of NF-êB by adenoviral IêBá expression vectors, and antisense DNA targeting of NF-êB. These approaches will hopefully permit the design of new treatment strategies for chronic intestinal inflammation.

The Role of Interleukin (IL-22) in immune response to human diseases

Background and aims: IL-22 is an alpha- helical cytokine. IL-22 binds to a heterodimeric cell surface receptor composed of IL-10R2 and IL-22R1subunits. IL-22R is expressed on tissue cells, and it is absent on immune cells. L-22 and IL-10 receptor chains play a role in cellular targeting and signal transduction to selectively initiate and regulate immune responses. The aim of this study was to i...

A Historic Review of the Role of CD4+ T-Cell Subsets in Development of the Immune Responses against Cutaneous and Visceral Leishmaniases

The heterogeneity of CD4+ T cells has been investigated since the late 1970s, when their Th1 and Th2 subsets were coined. Later studies on the cutaneous form of the Leishmaniasis were focused on the experimental models of Leishmania major infection using the susceptible BALB/c and the resistant C57BL/6 mice. At the early 21st century, the regulatory T-cells subpopulation was introduced and its ...

External human exposure and management immune system in pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome

External exposed radiation may play an important role in pathogens of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), although is thought to arise due to a combination of genetic and environmental factors. The result is dysregulated immune responses due to alteration in the gut microbiota population and the subsequent development of gut inflammation. It has recently been shown that the effect of ioni...
